DAWN BLESSING FOR DRURY WORKSPACE
The Drury team and mana whenua have acknowledged the completion of the new Drury admin offices and lab. Stevenson staff along with representatives from Ngāti Tamaoho held a dawn blessing on site.
Kaumatua Ted Ngataki and his wife Waiata along with Kuia Helen Rawiri welcomed the group with karanga before blessing the new buildings with karakia, leading the Stevenson team through each of the spaces to clear the way for new beginnings.
Held on Whiro (a new moon) the blessing recognised the effort of those involved with the new buildings. The space was cleared so that staff could safely move into the new purpose-built premises which will house the transport, lab and admin teams.
After karakia and waiata, the group enjoyed some time together and shared kai in the new lunchroom.
